Borehamwood fish and chips (Johnny’s plaice) is a popular food shop that originated in the United Kingdom around 1830 with the First one recorded in London. The fish and chips shops being opened in 1850 by Jaseph Malin.

AS the popularity of this dish grew people began to realize that fish and chips potato was a rather tasty combination and over the course of the next 160 years fish and chips not only became a national institution but a vital source of nutrition for families, helping to fuel the nations’ workforce.
In keeping in line with tradition, Borehamwood Fish and Chips shops offers an extensive range of fresh fish and chips. We also do burgers which are delivered from sustainable sources so that our customers receive only the very best.

Everyone I know who has eaten in the Wagon and horses on Watling Street between Elstree and Radlett has asked if I have eaten there yet. I have often been in for a drink but never had a meal there. My Partner's birthday on the 6th of April and we did sample the food. We had the chicken salad with sweet potato chips. One word describes it delicious and served by the ultra efficient Holly and Crystal prepared lovingly by the Zimbabwean Natasha deputising in the Kitchen for Rob as he and Darren were busy building an outdoor patio, kitchen and eating area. ​A sports writer for a number of Essex and Suffolk newspapers before He founded AMPSUK in 1987 under the name of AMPS in Essex. Self taught as a graphic designer where he designed the magazine as well as being the editor/publisher of The Essex and Suffolk Herald, Essex Hamlet, Eatout, Cusine, Border and ​Halstead Trader. The Herald and Hamlet peaked at 22,000 delivered before he sold it to Braintree Publications. 

Later he became a business Consultant for North London and South Herts ​for Starline Business ideas a company based in Blackpool. 

​​He worked for Publications UK on Road Safety guides, later was the final editor of of the London Insider's Guides.  

In 2011 he was co-producer with Jason Cook of the sitcom Cross and star  which he co-wrote with his partner Roma Zite
