Aldenham Lake and Country Park 
This beautiful lake is on the Elstree to Bushey road but access is on the Aldenham road into the country park. A Cafe is there and function rooms. The farm animal park is well worth a visit  A walk round the park and lake will take you about 45 minutes  for the youngsters and a shade or two longer for those not so young.


Unlike many other web sites we  aim to keep our text sizes at a minimum of 14pt so it is reader friendly for our less sighted visitors 
BOREHAMWOOD MARKET 
Every Saturday and Tuesday is Market day in Borehamwood 
A wide selection of items and services can be found here and many of the stall holders have been coming to this market for several years. I find most of them give excellent value for money. 
   ELSTREE DROME  
The local aredrome at Elstree is well worth a visit. watch the planes come in take off and partake of a meal in the 3 greens Restaurant 
                        SHENLEY 
In the heart of the village of Shenley  this lovely park is ideal for a casual walk and then a meal at the Shenley park Cafe, adjacent to the park is the well known cricket pitch where in the summer one can see many international cricketers playing the good old english game. Also the England lady cricketers play here too  
 STANBOROUGH PARK AND LAKES 
Only 14 miles from Borehamwood this is a delightful place to visit with two large lakes including a boating lake and a stream safe for paddling in 

Rickmansworth lakes and canal 
Just 13 miles from Borehamwood by the normal roads but 22 miles if you go via the motorway. The grand union canal flows through the town and several lakes extend beyond the town towards Denham
