Abundant Life
It was a real privilege recently to pray with Jenny as she committed her life to Jesus. We skyped in her son, Eli, from America and had her other son, Warren, on speaker phone! Both her sons have become believers in recent years and Eli is currently working with Jews for Jesus, Chicago, as a missionary. Warren regularly volunteers with us and will be on the Olympic Evangelistic outreach. I read from John 10 and then we prayed. It was an amazing moment and we were all in tears. I just want to praise God that Jenny is now in relationship with Him and thank you for all your prayers for her.
I recently went to an art gallery with an unsaved Jewish lady, Jessie. She had suggested that we meet there as I could then explain the religious symbolism and she could explain the art to me. I was a little bit uncomfortable because I know next to nothing about art! We came across a painting by Rubens called, ‘Moses and the Brazen Serpent’. I asked Jessie if she recognised the event from the Tenach. She said she didn’t and I retold the story to her. I explained that although the staff that Moses held up had the power to heal, it didn’t heal the Israelites unless they looked at it and believed that God would heal them from the plague when they cast their eyes on it. In much the same way, I said, it was the same with Jesus’ death on the cross. Jesus had died for all of us, but unless we believed in his death, then we weren’t saved from sin.

Three Messianic Bar Mitzvahs!
by Barry Barnett
In March, I led three brothers, Michael, Abraham and Josiah in their Bar Mitzvahs. They are Jewish boys who also believe in Jesus and wanted to express their Jewish identity, but also emphasise the importance of their relationship with Jesus. In Jewish tradition, Bar Mitzvah is considered an important rite of passage from being a boy to a man. They read from the Torah in Hebrew and then each read a New Testament verse in English (which their mum, Agnita, then read in Greek!)
The boys strengthened their commitment to God, to Jesus and to His laws. They took their place as men amongst the Jewish people and committed to sharing the Gospel. Everyone wished the family, ‘Mazel Tov!’ and there was much celebrating, including Messianic Jewish dancing. What a blessing the day was and how proud we all were of the three young men!
Recently, I met with Angie, a volunteer who had come up from West Sussex to do some street evangelism. We worked hard preparing and praying and then set out for Camden Town. Soon Angie met a woman who looked sad. Angie talked with her, gently giving the Gospel, and then the woman revealed that she had been thinking of committing suicide. Angie prayed with her immediately and the woman left seeming better. We praised God that He had brought Angie nearly a hundred miles to help save this woman’s life! God really cares.
Olympic Outreach
WE NEED YOU!
London Olympics Campaign,
22nd July - 13th August, 2012
This Summer, Jews for Jesus hopes to have a 30 person team on the streets of London, handing out Gospel leaflets and engaging people in conversations about Jesus our Messiah. The Olympics offers us an unparalleled opportunity for innovative and exciting evangelism within a city flooded with over six million extra people. However, we dont have the full team yet. Would you be interested?
Jesus said, "I tell you, there is rejoicing in the presence of the angels of God over one sinner who repents." (Acts 15:10) We want you to be part of that rejoicing this summer.
We're looking for Churches and individual Christians who can join us. CLICK HERE for all the info or email enquiries@jewsforjesus.org.uk
Branch Focus: Kiev
The Kiev branch of Jews for Jesus began in 1997. Kiev is the capital of Ukraine with around five million people currently residing there. Kiev also has the largest Jewish community in Ukraine, of around 100,000.
The missionaries in Kiev are actively involved in street evangelism, distributing c500,000 Gospel tracts and making c3,000 phone calls to Jewish people annually. They also make many one-to-one visits with Jewish people who are seeking to know the truth about Jesus.
The branch is also organising a big outreach in June this year for the Euro 2012 Football Championships, which is a great opportunity to witness to people from all over the world.

Rabbi Nahman of Breslov
Nachman of Breslov, the great grandson of the Baal Shem Tov, was born April 4, 1772, in Ukraine, and later moved to Bratslav, known as Breslov, in 1802. He was the founder of the Breslov Hasidic movement. He breathed new life into the Hasidic movement by combining the esoteric secrets of the Kabbalah with in-depth Torah scholarship and attracted thousands of followers during his lifetime. His influence continues today. Rabbi Nachman’s religious philosophy revolved around closeness to God and speaking to God in normal conversation ‘as you would with a best friend.’
In his short life, Rabbi Nachman achieved much acclaim as a teacher and spiritual leader, and is considered a seminal figure in the history of Hasidism. He rejected the idea of hereditary Hasidic dynasties and placed great stress on living with faith, simplicity and joy. He died on October 16, 1810.
We would ask that you would pray for our Hasidic Brothers and sisters who don't yet know that Jesus is Messiah. Jesus, himself, made it clear in John 14:6, that it is only through knowing him that we can come into relationship with God. Please pray for us to have continued opportunities amongst the Hasidic community to declare the truth of Jesus as Messiah.
